Look-a-likes

I know I'm always posting look-a-likes on our post but this was initiated by someone else.  Four people now have told Megan she looks like Selena Gomez (from Witches of Waverly Place).

She thinks there's not a shred of resemblance but I think it's her hairstyle she's been sporting for the last few months that doing it.

The book that gets used...

We finished the Book of Mormon as a family!  And it's not going to make it another round because, I'm proud to say, it's been trashed.

A couple milestones

Gideon is pretty proud of himself.  He's hit a couple of milestones; eating with a utensil and walking.

He sure took his time on the walking but what do you expect being the last child and all.

Talking is next but he's already making good strides.

Why boys will never win

Last week we babysat our sisters four boys and girl.  We had already planned to attend the Weber State fireworks show so we loaded up two cars worth of kids and headed out.

Megan, as usual, was on top of things and bought a ton of glow sticks beforehand for all the kids.  Within no time, all manner of other children were drawn in to form a mob of glowing kids.  I quickly observed two different behaviors emerge.

The girls immediately banded together, put their wands together, and said "Girl Power!"  They played together and helped each other out.

The boys, on the other hand, completely dissolved into a frenzied battle of stabbing and glow-stick sword fighting.  This picture is hard to make our but shows some of the carnage of boys dead on the ground.  A recent "stabbing" by other boys.

4th of July

Every year, on the 4th of July, Megan reliably dresses the kids in red, white and blue.  She always does such a good job.  They are so cute.  Their cousins obviously do the same thing;

Summer of Mud

We've got a few open patches of dirt.  And the kids are taking full advantage of it.  It didn't take them long to figure out that water + dirt = mud.
