Reece is getting weirder

While he is by far the sweetest child of our family, he, more and more, is becoming our mischievious, naughty leprechaun. He yells out his words more often (just for the heck of it) and likes smacking people on the butt when he walks by.

The other day, he was running around the house with all the underwear he owns stuffed into his underwear. He chased the other siblings around the house all the while pulling his underwear out, one at a time, and throwing them at the other kids. I have no idea what possessed him to do this.

Reece's Fingernails

Reece has freakishly fast growing fingernails. It quite amazing. I will clip his fingernails 3 times before I have to trim mine or his siblings. Tate was very similar when we was little.

Comb Battles

Living with girls is the best. As their dad, you're her knight in shining armor that saves the day for them.

...However, one of the drawbacks of living with girls is they keep taking all our grooming and hair styling stuff. Especially our combs. Megan bought them their own combs and repeatedly told them not to take our comb. But sure enough, it keeps disappearing and we have to track it down. The other day our comb was gone from our drawer (again) and when I strolled into the girls' bathroom, I discover 3 combs laid out on their counter. Grrrrrr...

Chocolate overload

One of the advantages of Tate working at Cold Stones is the constant stream of goodies he brings home. Either from mistakes or stuff he buys with his discount. He recently brought home a chocolate ice cream cake, an order that the customer never picked up, with the words, "Happy Birthday Mom."

Since we do 'Sunday Sundaes' on the first Sunday of the month, we incorporated it into the mix. It got a little out of hand though because the kids are used to making homemade fudge for this event. So, when they served themselves up with chocolate cake, with chocolate icing, with chocolate icecream, with chocolate fudge drissled on top, it was interesting to see how they reacting. My side of the family loves chocolate, but Megan's isn't so gungho. Tate and Harper both bowed out and dumped their portions but Hudson, Gideon and Reece stayed the course.

We hosted Thanksgiving

Since it'd been over a year since we moved and finally felt like we'd settled in, we agreed to host Thanksgiving for the my side of the family.

Megan got pretty into this and bought new dishes just for the occasion. Her father would meticulously set up the dishes and silverware the night before, making sure everything was perfect. This ritual seems to be a family tradition because Megan did the same thing.

Harper Dancing = Happy Girl

There is nothing I love more in this world than watching my kids participate in the things that set their soul on fire. For this gorgeous girl, it's dance. I love how she lights up when she is on the stage and I know there is no where else in this whole world she would rather be. Also, grateful for the cutest friend  she could ever ask for that she gets to dance and go to school with.
