Musical Instruments

Megan and I feel strongly about our kids playing musical instruments.

Some kids have loved playing (i.e. Tate) and others have fought us tooth and nail (i.e. Hudson). Right now, four of the five are playing instruments.

• Tate has played the violin for over 6 years but has plunked away at the piano for years. Just recently he expressed interest in actually taking lessons.


• Hudsons and Tommy took guitar lessons together and she's continued practicing.


• Harper has played the piano for about 6 months.


• And Gideon just started playing the piano. We were going to wait but he really wanted to start.

The kids recently had a piano recital. It was fun to see 3 of the kids playing at it.

Crying Wolf

Megan and I were at an awards ceremony (for Megan's dad). We left Hudson in charge. About half way through we received texts fom Harper that she had hurt her arm.

See, it's hard to believe how bad it is as Harper is a bit emotional.

Here's a taste of what she was sending us (via Megan's phone that we left home).

The best was when another text came in co-written by both Harper and Hudson:

"When are you coming home it hurts ( Harper ) she looks fine but she says it hurt (Hudson)"

Well, it turned out it was broken. Ha ha.

Turtle Sandwich

He going to Worlds!

Tate is on his school's robotics team. This is his second year. He helps build their machine leading up to the competition. Then, during the tournament, he does a lot of cheerleading and safety.

Beginning of March, they competed and did okay but didn't qualify to move ahead to the International competition called 'Worlds'. Well, they did a fundraiser and were able to Idaho to compete again. This time they did very well and qualified! They are super excited.
