Hudson Likes Phones

We are hoping we can wait until our kids are 16 years old before we provide them a phone. Maybe that's wishful thinking, but, our oldest, Tate, strangely doesn't seem to care about having a phone (especially considering his love for gaming).

However, our 2nd child really, really wants one. Whenever my phone is laying about, Hudson grabs it and just starts browsing through my pictures or taking selfies.

Driving Lesson

I broke down and got a driving mower for the new house (and it's gigantic lawn).

It also doubles as Tate's driving lessons. Between that and driving the Bear Lake boat, he'll have his down in no time.

The Girls' Turn at Tetons

Every year, the 6th graders go to a teton science camp at the end of the year. It is AWESOME. I went with Tate 3 years ago and this year Megan went with Hudson.

Due to some re-arranging of groups, Megan even ended up in Hudson's group for a few days. Lucky!



One of the sweets moments was when Hudson and Megan returned, Harper ran out and the two sisters embraced.

The Mother of my Children

I'm in love with the mother of my children.

Megan, who is often critical of her mothering skills, is an incredible mother. Not only does she cook great/healthy meals, manage the budget, and manage the household superbly, she takes time every day to connect with the kids.

Here's a few of these moments I've capture over the years. These some of the quiet, intimate, thankless moments that make up motherhood.

What's a Rerun?

There is a scene in Back to the Future where Marty McFly (Michael J Fox) is back in 1950 (from 1980) and sees a show he's seen before. He calls it a rerun. One of the kids asks, "What's a rerun?", because it's a live broadcast and reruns don't exist yet.

I saw this scene recently, so I came home work and asked Hudsons, "Do you know what a rerun is?". She replied she didn't. We've come full circle.
