2012 Halloween Costume Lineup

Reece is Max and Gideon is the beast from "Where the Wild Things Are" book.

Harper is Mavis from the "Hotel Transylvania" movie.

Hudson is Sally from the "Nightmare before Christmas" movie.

Tate is Link from the "Legend of Zelda" video game.

And last, I dressed up as Mayhem.

Bows and arrows project

This was a fun project for the kids. We made bows out of PVC pipe, string, and pipe insulation. Then we made arrows out of dowels and Styrofoam.

Big girl bike

Nothing in the world matches the feel of riding your bike by yourself.  Hudson got a bike for her birthday and has been patiently waiting for her dad to teach her to ride the thing.  With summer over and fall quietly sneaking in, they were able to find some time to figure that whole bike riding thing out. And the smile on Hudson's face when she brought me out to show me her newly learned skill, could not be topped by anything in this world. (and isn't her bike the cutest?  the basket kills me)

How make conference 1.2 billion times easier.
1. fill up a bunch of glasses with candy
2. attach a gospel word to the outside of the glass
3. when one of the speakers says the word on the glass you get to grab a piece of candy

Although a very good idea, we may have picked words that were used just a bit too frequently.  Forty minutes into conference all the candy was gone and kids were complaining about belly aches. :)

Selfies

I guess my daughter is preparing to be a teenager.  I just hope her selfies improve over time.

The one where Harper ends up on the stairs

 After a particularly rough night with Harper not obeying us over and over again.  She finally ended up being sent to the basement to sleep (we do have a futon down there - but it is an unfinished basement).  She cried for about 15 minutes while Tommy and I kept saying to "each other"  when Harper is quiet we will move her back into her room with Hudson.  Finally it got really quite downstairs and this is what I found.

Reece Four Months

Reece at four months is just plan delicious.  He is the happiest baby!. 

He is obviously a little too loved by the older siblings

Still not sleeping through the night but sleeps great during the day and is so easy going.

The making of a fine husband

No, this blog post isn't about Tommy, he is a lost cause (I kid).  This post is about making my boys into fine husbands.  Which in my opinion includes the ability to cook, other than from the freezer.  I am determined to make chefs out of my boys.  I want them to be able to have the skills to help their wife with the dinner making.  Luckily Tate loves to cook and he is good at it.  The best thing in the whole world is to wake up to your ten year old making breakfast for everyone.  Yes, future wife of Tate, you can thank me now.

Silver Lake

Tommy and I decided that we needed to get out and see more of this beautiful State that we live in.  So, on the list was Silver Lake in the Fall.  (I may or may not have made sure our outfits coordinated so that we could get some cute fall photos)
