Death Trap

 

One of Harper’s Saturday chores is to sweep and mop the kitchen floor. Because she couldn’t find the floor cleaner, this Saturday she instead used glass cleaner on our linoleum floors. The floor became as slippery as an ice skating rink.

Just about killed the entire family.

Camping

I came home to this image. Gideon said, “Look Dad, I’m camping”.

Summer

 

Running through the sprinklers, barefoot, on warm day. That’s what summer is all about.

Dating

 Megan and I go out a lot. Nearly every weekend. Some might call us selfish, but I think it’s important. 

And my wife is just totally fun to hang out with.

Our Coat of Arms

I finally finished our family coat of arms. 

I’ve been working on this project for quite a while. Quite some time ago, the family wrote down all the things we thought embodied our family. Then I found symbols for each of these values. I sketched up the coat of arms, but later had a professional create it adobe illustrator.

The banner came the other day and I’m pretty happy with the final product.

• The hawk symbolizes truth 
• The 3 doves stand for selflessness, love, and kindness.
• Saturn stands for order and traditions
• Dragon stands for wisdom and protector of the weak,
• The dragon is dancing because we are a family of fun (and because “Triplett” is a reduced form of Tripelet, from a derivative of the Old French verb tripier "to hop", "to skip", hence a nickname for a dancer or acrobat.)
• Motto is “Let your light so shine”
• The dragons spout symbolizes creativity
• The crown symbolizes our royal and divine heritage
• The white in the doves stands for purity and cleanliness
• The yellow stands for fun and happiness
• The green stands for health (in mind, body, and spirit)
• The blue stands for trustworthiness/loyalty
