Major Valentines Paper Mache Project

Every year, I talk to the kids about their Valentine's day boxes.  There are always wild and strange requests, but I manage to steer them toward something easier, boxier; like rubics cubes or vending machines. The squarer, the better.

Well, this year, I decided to build whatever they requested. And they, predictably, requested their favorite animals; a turtle, a giraffe, and a sloth.

First, we spent one night building the shapes out of cardboard. Then we spent another evening paper macheing them. Kind of difficult since the paper mache soaked the cardboard and some parts started collapsing. I had to support some limbs while they dried.



After that, we spent another evening painting the animals. They turned out pretty well. The sloth looks a little weird - more like a clown than a sloth.

Rush fun center

I took all the kids (except Tate) to the Rush fun center for their cousin's birthday. It was a blast.

However, right after we got our wristbands and started filling out the waiver forms, Reece runs off. He does this a lot. I go to the party room but no Reece. I start looking around other places. Finally find him. He'd helped himself to the 'bumpy' cars (as he calls them).



Later, uncle JBJ offered all the kids money if they got to the top of the climbing wall. I was pretty proud that only my children rose to the challenge. And each earned themselves $5 (Thanks JBJ for making their day).

It doesn't matter where she is, they find her and lay by her.
