Harper: the destroyer of phones

Tate astounded us with how long he waited to get a phone. Most kids beg their parents for one when they are little but Tate didn't seem to care for one. It was pretty crazy, we would send him on a bus to go to Nuames in Layton or Weber State (for early college) in Ogden with no phone or wallet. He was quite resourceful and managed just fine. In the rare cases that he did need to contact us, he would just borrow someone's phone and call us.

Megan actually bought one for Tate when he was 17 and he reluctantly received it. He was actually hoping to wait til after he'd graduated from High School.

The phone we gave him was a Light phone; a simple phone designed to be uninteresting; to discourage over consumption.

We gave Hudson a Light phone the same time as Tate; when she was 14. She used it til she was 16. At that time she saved up and purchased an iphone for herself.

This is when Harper came onto the scene. She took over Hudson's phone last year, when she was 14.

However, after a few months, she dropped Hudson's old phone in water and it stopped working. No big deal, we had Tate's phone.

Now Tate's phone wasn't in great condition. He was not gentle with and had completely cracked the screen. But it didn't really matter because Harper lost it while skiing only after a couple months. It got turned into the Lost and Found After, but we got it back, it didn't work.

So, we then bought her a Gabb phone; an Android phone designed to look like a regular phone, but with limited features. But last week it broke. Harper dropped it in the toilet right after she had used it. In a panic, she reached in an grabbed it but was grossed out so she proceeded to wash it off (that probably didn't help). Unsurprisingly, it doesn't work anymore.

She is now gunning for Hudson's old iphone. But we are concerned. After destroying 3 phones in a year, we're hestitant to get her another.
