Bad Hair Month

Unfortunately, Tucker had a bad experience.

Tucker's hair got pretty out of hand this winter. It got pretty grown out and matted and therefore needed a pretty significant trim.

I am never prepared for his new look, even when I know it's coming. Most of the family was similarly freaked out.

I couldn't help but see resemblance to Dobby the House Elf from the Harry Potter movies.

But shortly after, Tucker exhibited some weird behavior. He seems to have been traumatized by the haircut and kept biting at the stem of his tail. He got exceptionally cuddly and needy. He would often just sit and stare off. We were worried.

Then a red spot appeared at the base of his tail. It turns out, it's common for dogs to get burned by the clippers, but takes a few days for it to show up.

After a couple weeks, he seems to have mostly recovered.
