By far the best and most memorable experience from our trip was our hotel stop. And no that is not a typo it ended up being a "stop" and not a stay for one major reason: our room was occupied. Yup, as in no vacancy here. Picture this: it is 11:00 at night we have been driving for 7 hours, the kids are wide awake and we pull up to our hotel, which from the get go is not really my cup of tea. But I am tired and at this point will be fine as long as it is clean. Tommy gets the key, walks out into a lobby that has the distinct smell of pot and proceeds to head to our room. Meanwhile I am starting to unpack the sleepy crew from the car. Back at room city; Tommy is opening the door to our room, looking in he thinks what a joke they didn't even clean the room. This is when our "roomie" rolls over and makes a groaning noise. Which is also when Tommy realizes the room is occupied and quickly shuts the door. Needless to say we got our money back and decided to press on to the next city.
