Reece: the Cute Caboose

Reece had his birthday last week. He's 7 years old. We celebrated it at his favorite place 'Charlie Block' (Trolley Square).

Funny things about Reece:

  • Reece is such a delightful child. He's exceptionally grateful. Whenever we do something fun he is really good about thanking us afterward.

  • He is amazingly kind. Today, on our way to church, there was a large grouping of ants between to sidewalk cracks. All the kids admired it but moved on. Reece got off his bike, picked it up, and carried it across so as not to hurt any ants.

  • The other day at Lagoon, Reece was riding a bunch of the rides. He kept saying about the Lady Bug Drop, "I don't like this ride...but I like this ride."

  • He loves being in his underwear. And pajamas. If he has to change any time after around 2 PM, he goes straight to pajamas.

  • Reece gets really into movies; he squeals when it gets to the good parts. Also, he's super sensitive, we leaves the room if the movie is remotely scary (Tate was like this too).

  • If someone is going somewhere, doesn't matter where, he always wants to come.

  • He's pretty mischevious and goofy. He loves being silly.

  • When Megan asked him to clean up the popcorn he'd spilled on the couch, he proceeded to eat all each piece off the couch.

  • He's slow: We still have to dress him for church. All the other kids dressed themselves by now. He knows how. He's just extremely slow, so we have to dress him if we want to get to church on time. When we hike, I often have to carry him for portions of the hike or else he falls way behind.

  • He never wears shoes: He apparently hates wearing shoes because he always tries to go places without shoes. Megan was scolding him the other day in the car. Reece replied, "Mom. Can you just let me go without shoes. It's sort of my jam."
